The Moisturizers Keeping Me Dewy During This Dry Winter Season

Surely I am not the only one who’s been experiencing severe dry skin; I actively feel like I’m working overtime to achieve the dewy, glazed donut look I love so much. Specifically this winter season, being in NYC has been extra tough on my skin. As someone already prone to dry skin, NYC’s harsh temperatures is making it even dryer, creating the perfect opportunity for me to see which of my moisturizers are truly winter certified.

To achieve the glow I love so much, layering various hydrating products are essential, but most importantly, this is when my long lasting, thicker moisturizers are showing me exactly why they were created. With the right moisturizer, you can keep your routine simple but effective and achieve that dewy glow we all would feel incomplete without.

MY TOP 3 WINTER MOISTURIZERS FOR DEWY SKIN

1. Rhode Barrier Butter (Here)

Without a doubt, this winter, I’ve been reaching for my Rhode Barrier Butter the most. If you’ve never tried this amazing formula, it’s a fuller version of Rhode’s original BRC, and in my opinion, so much better (especially during the winter). Not only is the formula long lasting, it’s thick, creamy formula is beyond hydrating yet feels light weight on my skin… think glowy not greasy. Retailed at $38 for the 5 oz bottle, a little goes a long way, making this product not only effective but majorly affordable. You all know I’m a major rhode STAN, and it’s hard for me to pick favorites with all of their products being in my rotation, but when I reflect on the Rhode product used the most, it is hands down the Rhode Barrier Butter. I also avidly use the RBB in my night time skincare routine, and without a doubt, it consistently leaves me awakening to hydrating, supple, plump skin.

2. Tatcha Dewy Skin (Here)

Now, if you’re feeling glamorous and want a more luxurious, dewy, long lasting formula, Tatcha Dewy Skin Cream is your girl. Similar to Rhode, a little goes a long way and I feel my skin coming back alive the second I apply this moisturizer. Specifically when using this moisturizer, I dramatize my skincare routine and ensure I’m feeling as luxurious as the moisturizer itself. A royal purple jar paired with a gold spoon to retrieve the product, I’m never not in one my silk GRWM (get ready with me) gowns when applying Tatcha’s Dewy Cream; When a product costs $72, believe me when I say we’re going to make applying skincare a moment!

Though this award winning product checks all the boxes as a mosturizer, it also serves as the perfect base for an elevated make up look. When I’m striving for that smooth, glowy, luxurious but effortless make up look, without a doubt, it’s Tatch’a Dewy Skin Cream on my base. I’m confident all make up would pair well with Tatcha but I personally love pairing it with my Hourglass’s Skin Tint and Concealers.

3. Weleda Skin Food Rich (Here)

Last but most definitely not least is my tried, true, and tested Weleda Skin Food. Of all the moisturizers I’ve ever used, Weleda was the first that changed my life.

I got introduced to Weleda in 2022, on set of a Laneige campaign; My make up artist was sharing the tips he uses to ensure I’m camera ready and quite literally couldn’t hide his passion when it was time to use Weleda Skin Food. Of the 3 products shared, this is the thickest formula by far and on first use, can feel difficult to spread. I suggest you warm it up in your hands and take your time, applying it to your face, because once it’s on, it’s not going anywhere. No matter how large my collection of skin care grows, I’m never without a Weleda Skin Food in my possession, and for $12, everyone should have a Weleda Skin Food in their collection.

I will note, there is a lemony scent that people often complain about, but as someone who typically does not enjoy scents, I truly don’t mind the smell of Weleda. If you feel the rich formula is too heavy for your skin, I encourage you to try their light formula.
